I’m Despina. I’ve lived in Italy for six years and teach Modern Greek through one-to-one lessons, online and in person. I bring passion, energy and attentive listening to every meeting: I want to know the person before their level.

What do
A1, B2 and C2 mean?
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), known as CEFR, was developed by the Council of Europe. It describes language skills on a shared scale from A1 to C2 and helps set goals and track progress.
For Modern Greek, the Centre for the Greek Language (KEG) organizes official Greek language proficiency exams at levels aligned with the CEFR.
These descriptions are for guidance: the assistant does not certify your level, and referring to the CEFR does not mean that a course awards certification.

Access, limits and assistant information
Can the assistant replace a teacher?
The assistant helps with a specific question. Lessons with a teacher give continuity, feedback and depth. They complement each other. AI can make mistakes or give incomplete explanations: check important points with Despina.
What can I ask, and in which language?
You can write in Italian or Greek and ask about grammar, meanings, word differences, expressions, usage examples and short translations. Pronunciation guidance is written only: the assistant cannot listen, record or assess your voice.
Which levels is it for?
Choose Beginner A1–A2, Intermediate B1–B2 or Advanced C1–C2. The explanation adapts to your selection. If you are starting from zero, choose Beginner; ask Karl about a suitable course.

Does the assistant remember earlier questions?
Each question is independent. If you return to a topic, include the phrase or rule you mean. Answers remain on the page until you reload it.
How do I choose a course? Where can I ask about formats and prices?
Contact Karl at the GrecoFacile with Despina course office. Share your starting point and goals; you can ask about available courses, formats, schedules and prices before deciding.

A1–C2 are CEFR levels used here as a guide to skills. This site and assistant do not issue certificates. For official Greek exams, consult KEG; ask the course office about any preparation paths or course attendance documents.
How are my questions handled?
The site uses your verified sign-in identity to apply limits. It stores an identifier, submission time and status, but not questions or answers in its own database. Your question is sent to OpenAI to generate an answer, with API response storage disabled; the provider’s data-handling and retention policies apply. Avoid personal or sensitive information.
For data questions, write to Despina. WhatsApp and SMS links open external services: sending a message is your choice.

Can I start from zero without knowing the alphabet?
Yes. Your path can begin with the alphabet, sounds and first expressions. You do not need prior knowledge; we establish your starting point together.
Are the lessons one to one?
Yes. Despina offers one-to-one lessons: goals, materials and pace are shaped around the learner and their needs.
Can I study online or in person?
Both formats are available. When you get in touch, you can ask about availability and practical details, including the location for in-person lessons.
I have little time or travel often. How can I organize lessons?
Online lessons can help you keep learning from different places. Tell Despina how much time you have; you can agree the pace and organization together.
Can I focus mainly on speaking?
Yes. Describe the situations in which you want to communicate. Speaking, listening, vocabulary and grammar become tools for your goals, with materials and activities suited to your starting point.
I studied Greek years ago. Where do I pick up?
The introductory conversation helps identify what you remember, where you feel confident and what you want to revisit. You do not have to choose a level on your own.
How long is a lesson, and what does it cost?
Ask Despina or the course office about duration, frequency, prices and availability. The first contact lets you learn the details before deciding.
How does the introductory conversation work?
Send Despina a request with your starting point, goals and preferred format. You will arrange a time to meet and discuss your path; the site does not automatically book a date.

Sono Despina Papavramidou, madrelingua greca,
da sette anni insegno con grande passione il Greco Moderno agli Italiani.
Nelle mie lezioni individuali, online e in presenza, ho sviluppato una metodologia didattica personale, originale e innovativa, costruita per portare il Greco fuori dai soliti schemi del libro e dentro la comunicazione reale.
Il mio metodo parte dall’allievo: dai suoi obiettivi, dal suo livello, dai suoi interessi e dal modo in cui apprende meglio.
